Community Problem Solving

One of the reasons FulcrumOne is so successful at getting projects through the process for the private sector is our experience of having been on the other side of the dais for nine years. That’s why the public sector, cities, counties and districts have utilized FulcrumOne on numerous occasions for community problem solving through outreach, negotiation, consensus building, and citizen participation. Just as the legitimacy of the government can evaporate so can the legitimacy of the process evaporate during the course of a major works project. Let’s face it. Public trust in government agencies is at an all-time low. FulcrumOne builds public trust through what is termed “Informed Consent”: “The grudging willingness of opponents to go along with a course of action to which they are actually opposed.” This is something government can’t do due to that lack of trust. It’s something that FulcrumOne can do because we are one of “them”.  

Mediation and Facilitation

As trained mediators and facilitators FulcrumOne will custom design and implement a process for the successful and effective resolution of conflict focusing on conflicts between neighbors or neighborhood HOA’s, conflict between developers and communities, conflict between neighborhoods and neighborhood businesses and conflicts between city or county governmental agencies and citizens. FulcrumOne manages and facilitates the negotiation and problem-solving process. We do not attempt to control the outcome. The constructive resolution of conflict through the voluntary mediation allows FulcrumOne, as an independent impartial third-party, to create trust in the process and among opposing parties facilitate reasonable and doable solutions worked out by those in conflict in a way that fosters healing rather than hard feelings.
